Data Solutions & Sales Manager

This is a remote position (WA, OR, ID) that will require occasional travel to our Seattle office. 

Purpose:  

This position is responsible for increasing the adoption of our data elements and products among customers, including sales of this data outside the state of Washington. Primary customers include insurance companies, agencies, and affiliated insurance-related businesses. Interviewing and investigating customers to determine their needs for additional data elements and products on an ongoing basis. Delivery of results, consultation, and continued relationship building over time and expansion of the customer base nationwide. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Understands insurance underwriting, claims, or product development workflow and needs
  • Identifies key decision makers to drive adoption of products in Washington state and increase sales of products and services to generate revenue nationwide
  • Travels to meet current customers, existing and new partners, and potential customers
    1. Attends and exhibits at industry and innovation conventions
    2. Connects with top national-level contacts to promote and sell our products
  • Through consistent contact with potential buyers, maintains current awareness of: 
    1. Customer needs/challenges, trends, plans, and practices
    2. Competitors and alternatives
    3. Potential new products, services, target markets, and prospective customers
  • Provides educational sessions on industry trends and solutions at conferences
  • Maintains awareness of current and developing trends within the industry
  • Communicates customer feedback, concerns, and needs to the Product Development Manager/Risk Data & Analytics team and Marketing
  • Working with the Risk Data & Analytics team, welcomes and onboards new Subscribers and customers
  • Manages the direct relationship between WSRB and its customers to communicate value and reinforce brand loyalty

Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience: 

  • 3-5 years in the insurance industry in an underwriting, product, or claims role
  • 2+ years in a marketing and/or sales role
  • Proven track record of relationship building with insurance companies and/or agencies
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for innovation
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Internal/External Contacts: 

  • Daily contact with Sales/Marketing department personnel
  • Frequent contact with all levels of management at WSRB
  • Contact with customers, insurance personnel, and/or vendors  

Working Conditions: 

  • Typical remote working conditions
  • Ability to use computer mouse and keyboard
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Repetitive use of hands required
