DevOps Engineer
The DevOps Engineer role is responsible for developing cloud-native solutions to complex problems on a cross-functional team.

Essential Functions:
- Develop solutions to complex problems in our cloud environment and provide expertise in development, security & testing best practices and methodologies.
- Work in a collaborative Agile department, and in addition to your strong individual contributions, you will provide advice and assistance to team members, as needed, to help in continually improving the cloud-related development and infrastructure.
- Work closely with the DevOps Team on a day-to-day basis in supporting cloud infrastructure, and the Development Team and InfoSec Team as needed for software development and security efforts.
- Enjoy collaborating with product, designers, and other engineers to solve complex technology and business problems.
- Able to take business stories and work with your team to figure out what needs to be done to drive progress.
- Motivated to develop cloud-native solutions with good design practices while finding opportunities to simplify and scale.
- Manage the routine auditing of cloud resource usage, such as cost-savings, security improvements, reliability, and new products.

- Assist Development and DevOps Teams in the regular work to engineer, test, deploy and support complex, full-stack software applications.

- Join planning discussions to contribute technological expertise and inform the needs of the business from a cloud architecture standpoint.
- Identify situations where expertise outside the department is needed and help organize any third-party vendor assistance when necessary.
- Have a thorough understanding of our products and services and be able to relay relevant information to audiences internal and external when necessary.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure documentation is up-to-date and thorough, that work performed by the one team does not adversely affect other teams.
- Advocate for resources and operational systems that enable the department to be the best partner it can be to other internal and where applicable external teams.
- Meet regularly with organizational leadership and other key staff members to coordinate system changes. Identify and help plan for any end-of-life services.
- Assist in planned maintenance and outages. Ensure any urgent issues involving the cloud infrastructure are addressed promptly and thoroughly with transparent communication.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Attends regular meetings within the Technology Solutions department.
- Keeps current on industry trends and provides regular feedback to the Technology Solutions Director, as necessary.
- Complies with departmental and WSRB policies and procedures.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 4+ years of equivalent professional or military experience.
- 3+ years of cloud architecture and/or DevOps experience.
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
- Familiarity with relational databases and schema design.
- 2+ years’ experience building and deploying cloud-scale products in a professional capacity.
- Agile practitioner, able to deliver products iteratively.
- You get along well with others and thrive in a collaborative environment and your values align with WSRB Core Values.
- Experience with continuous delivery, automated deployments, and related engineering practices.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes/Containerization a plus.
- Experience in at least one of the top cloud providers, preferably Azure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Internal / External Contacts:
Daily contact with Technology Solutions departmental staff, other internal department personnel, and all levels of management at WSRB. Occasional contact with vendors.
Working Environment:
- Typical home office working conditions.
- Travel for in-person team building and All-Team meetings up to eight times per year.
- Ability to use computer mouse and keyboard.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Pay Range:
$94,427.00 - $151,083.00 per year
